What leaves the hall each quarter
Players never pay us anything — the site keeps its lights on through advertising partnerships. A share of that income, fixed in advance, leaves the building every quarter. This page says where it goes.
Gambling-harm support
A site that borrows the shape of a casino owes something to the people the real ones have hurt. Half of the budget goes to UK organisations working on gambling harm — the same ones named in every footer here: GamCare's helpline, Gordon Moody's residential programmes, and the research work behind BeGambleAware.
Community games nights
The other half funds community games nights and after-school clubs around Bristol and the West Country — card tables, board-game libraries, a warm room with the kettle filled. Games taught most of us how to lose well; passing that on seems like fair rent.
The arithmetic, plainly
- The share is set before the year starts, never worked out afterwards.
- Recipients and figures are published once a year in the journal.
- No recipient endorses Cedarvaux and none is asked to; the money travels quietly.
If you run a club or a support service nearby and want to be considered, write to us — put Giving in the subject line and it lands on the right bench.
